Job Description

Junior Web & Multimedia Developer

PURPOSE: Develops computer- and Web-based products using software tools & technologies such as Adobe and Microsoft products and scripting languages, markup languages, Web browsers and client-side technologies to support training and other online content to leverage technological capabilities in the development of dynamic and routine interactive instructional activities or job aids. Works closely with senior developers.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Analyzes target platform and technical specifications; assists with developing prototypes; develops application scripts and code.

 

  • Develops routine level interactivity including animation and screen designs in development of online training courses.

 

  • Performs the duties of multimedia developer on multiple projects.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Executes graphical interface treatments and manages media assets for multimedia Websites.

 

  • Optimizes learning modules for Web deployment including pre-loaders, audio and video quality, frame rates, and staging.

 

  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in multimedia technology or related discipline and one to two years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience . HTML, including Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and JavaScript preferred. Basic knowledge of ActionScript and the Flash development environment. Fluency with both timeline-based and ActionScript animation. Knowledge of software and project development process. An understanding of graphic design and layout principles. Ability to apply Section 508 compliance issues and standards. SharePoint; Video processing and encoding desired.
