Program Specialist Senior
PURPOSE: Perform a variety of complex and difficult administrative functions as the lead administrative support staff for Department of Defense (DoD) participant programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for non-employee participant appointment processes for 10 major programs in 18 locations, 20 sponsors.
Interacts with a continually increasing volume of participants, reviewers, senior laboratory officials, and major program sponsors in gathering and supplying information necessary to complete appointment process.
Establish protocols and procedures to initiate security clearance requests from various Science Education Programs (SEP)-3 customers.
Prepare and provide ORAU and ORISE sponsor reports as required.
Coordinate and standardize appointment practices across programs and staff to ensure timeliness and quality expectations.
Responsible for new/recurring functions including, providing training, oversight and mentoring to new staff, etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent with minimum four years job-related experience. Must have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, grammatical, and proofreading skills. Must be able to deal effectively and tactfully with a variety of people at various academic levels. Must be proficient in word processing and have experience in working with computer database applications. Must be self-directed and capable of processing and prioritizing multiple tasks, and handling a large and varied workload with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate problem solving skills. Desired knowledge of military operations is preferred.
