Annual Meeting

The EMI SIG holds an annual meeting sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE) Headquarters Office of Emergency Management and Policy (NA-41). The meeting is usually held in a location proximal to a DOE / National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facility/site and is hosted by that contractor/organization.

About 250 DOE/NNSA and contractor employees typically attend the five-day meeting. Participants attend workshops and concurrent sessions that provide up-to-date information for contractors and DOE/NNSA personnel on a wide variety of emergency management topics. Exhibits, state-of-the-art technology and products, and site tours are also features of the annual meeting.

The TRADEing Post is the designated exhibit area of the annual meeting. It was established for EMI SIG members to display information about onsite emergency management activities, including general information, special task force displays, and product displays.

2009 Annual Meeting

The 2009 annual meeting will be held May 4-9, at the Mark Hopkins Hotel, in San Francisco, California. It will be hosted by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and other San Francisco East Bay Area DOE sites and sponsored by the DOE HQ, Office of Emergency Management and Policy (NA-41). The theme of the meeting is “The Golden Gateway to Improvement in Emergency Management.”
