2001 EMI SIG Meeting
About 100 persons convened at the Downtown Holiday Inn in Denver, Colo., for the 16th Annual Meeting of the Department of Energy (DOE) Emergency Management Issues Special Interest Group (EMI SIG), April 30 – May 3, 2001.
The theme, "Policy, Plans, Performance: Closing the Circle," focused on the need to close the loop consisting of policies established by the DOE, solid plans and procedures, and performance to effectively address complexwide emergency management issues.
The four-day conference included meetings of the EMI SIG Exercise and Drill Subcommittee, the Hazards Assessment Subcommittee, and the Subcommittee on Transportation and Emergency Preparedness (STEP) on Monday; general and concurrent sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday; workshops on Violence in the Workplace, and Critical Thinking on Thursday morning; and a tour of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory on Thursday afternoon.
