The DOE Order 414.1C and Guide identify 10 software quality work activities that are to be performed using a graded approach. These 10 work activities are:
- Software project management
- Software risk management
- Software configuration management
- Procurement and vendor management
- Software requirements identification and management
- Software design and implementation
- Software safety design
- Verification and validation
- Problem reporting and corrective action
- Training of personnel in the design, development, use and evaluation of safety software.
