A Tool For Emergency
Exercise/Drill development

Capabilities

Exercise Builder© is a Windows®-based application used for designing and developing emergency preparedness drills and exercises. The program allows your emergency management preparedness staff to create Drill and Exercise Plans based on information customized for their facility or site. Separate documents are created for each of the components that make up an Exercise Plan.

Exercise Builder will help you create the following documents for an Exercise Plan:

  • Exercise Scope
  • Exercise Objectives
  • Design and Development Guidelines
  • Master Scenario Events List (MSEL)
  • Messages
  • Scenario Narrative
  • Pre-Approved Simulations
  • Scenario Data
  • Controller Directory
  • Responder Directory
  • Evaluator Guides
  • Safety Plan
  • Security Plan
  • Logistics Plan
  • Glossary
  • After Action Report

Exercise Builder will provide you with a step-by-step process that generates the required documents needed for an Exercise Plan. See Screen Shots 1 and 2.

Specific site and ERO information can be stored to be used on multiple Exercise Plans. See Screen Shots 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Possible exercise objectives are suggested based on scenario type and exercise participants selected.  See Screen Shots 7 and 8.

Exercise objectives are fully customizable to add new objectives. See Screen Shots 9 and 10.

A MSEL can be automatically generated when time assignments are added to response steps. See Screen Shots 11 and 12.

Exercise messages are dynamically generated as the MSEL is revised. See Screen Shots 13, 14, 15 and 16.

Controller Directories are generated based on message addressees. See Screen Shots 17 and 18.

Develop exercise Findings, Improvement Items, Superior Performance and Noteworthy Practices and generate reports based on exercise evaluation results. See Screen Shot 19.
