A Tool For Emergency
Exercise/Drill development

What are the Exercise Control and Evaluation (EC&E) participant/objectives?

Answer: Exercise Control and Evaluation (EC&E) participant/objectives are objectives and response steps that evaluate how the exercise was planned, designed, and conducted. You can evaluate the exercise just as you would evaluate participants playing in the exercise. Although the EC&C objectives are listed like participant objectives there is no single participant performing all the objectives.

The EC&E objectives are selected in Step 4.1 – Objectives and the response steps for each objectives are selected in Step 6.1 – MSEL. In Step 8.1 – EEG, the Exercise Evaluation Guide (EEG) is created for the EC&E objectives.

If you do not want to use the EC&E objectives to evaluate your exercise, open the Exercise Objectives Worksheet (4.1) for the EC&E participant/objectives and de-select each objective.  This removes them as exercise objective and are not displayed as a participant on 6.1 (MSEL) or 8.1 (EEG).
