International Symposium on Health Risk Communication: Uncertainty, Stakeholders, and Public Health

Client: Clients: Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Naval Environmental Health Center (NEHC)

Communicating health risk is important in all nations, and sharing good practices is helpful in developing an effective health communication program.

This symposium addressed both the American experience and the experiences of developing nations and nations in transition. Speakers shared views on communicating environmental, occupational, and public health risks and on how to apply the best communication practices.

ORISE provided technical assistance to bring together subject matter experts from across the world to share experiences dealing with public health and risk communication.
