Koper and Rule Appointed to Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence 2003 Board of Examiners

OAK RIDGE, TENN—Deena Koper and Bob Rule, of the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) located in Oak Ridge, TN, have been appointed to the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) 2003 Board of Examiners. The Award Program administered by TNCPE annually recognizes organizations demonstrating the highest levels of performance excellence.

As examiners, Koper and Rule are responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications submitted in the award process. The Board of Examiners is comprised of leading experts selected from all sectors of expertise including business, industry, education and health care organizations, professional and trade associations and government. Those selected meet the highest standards of qualification and peer recognition in their fields. All members of the board must complete a rigorous training course to prepare them to assess, conduct site visit and provide feedback to applicants based on the Criteria for Performance Excellence.

Established in 1993, the objective of the Award Program is to promote economic development by helping companies grow more competitive in today’s global marketplace. The program is patterned after the Baldrige National Quality Award, recognized as the national standard. Over 900 organizations have participated in the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence’s Award Program.
