CSEPP Medical Response and Emergency Preparedness Workshop and Tabletop Exercise
Workshop
Purpose: To coordinate patient tracking procedures within a medical community, using the CSEPP WeB-MEDIS patient tracking system.
The workshop will assist responders in the collection and transfer of patient data as the participants:
- Enhance their understanding of patient-tracking systems and initiatives
- Learn the CSEPP WeB-MEDIS patient-tracking system
- Use the Palm TX handheld and wireless technology to capture and share patient data
- Filter, edit, review and send data to emergency operations centers, hospitals or other response agencies
- Understand the importance of incorporating a patient-tracking system into plans and procedures, including assigning individuals to track patients
Tabletop Exercise
Purpose: To demonstrate knowledge of patient-tracking procedures and proficiency of the CSEPP WeB-MEDIS patient-tracking system.
The tabletop exercise will challenge participants to:
- Enter patient tracking information into the CSEPP WeB-MEDIS system via a Palm TX handheld
- Wirelessly track patient information from initial response location to the receiving facility
- Provide advance notification to the receiving facility and EOC
- Synchronize patient tracking information to a Web site
- Create patient tracking reports
