Project Description:

The Chemical Separations Group of the Chemical Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory invites candidates for a research opportunity.  This position focuses on novel applications of computer-aided molecular design in supramolecular chemistry.  Research will involve molecule generation with de novo structure building software and the evaluation of these molecules with molecular mechanics and electronic structure calculations.  Contact Dr. Benjamin Hay for further information (haybp@ornl.gov).

Qualifications:

A Ph. D. in Chemistry with a strong background and demonstrated expertise in computational chemistry is a requirement.  Expertise in supramolecular chemistry, physical chemistry, and/or structural chemistry is preferred.  The candidate must be able to work independently and have good oral and written communication skills. 

Applicants cannot have received the most recent degree more than five years prior to the date of application and must complete all degree requirements before starting their appointment.
