Project Description:

This posting is for opportunities starting in and prior to Fall 2014. If you are interested in starting after January 1, 2015, a new posting will be available after October 1, 2014.The Laboratory Technology Program provides opportunities for qualified STEM undergraduate students and recent associate and baccalaureate graduates to receive hands-on technical training in a real-world setting that will prepare them to become part of ORNL's future workforce in areas of critical need.  Must live within working distance of ORNL.

Duration:   Full-time or part-time appointments of up to one year, renewable up to four additional years. This is not a summer internship.

Benefits:  Stipend based on academic level or degree; benefits of full-time or part-time temporary employees of Oak Ridge Associated Universities. Depending on the availability of funding, participants enrolled in an undergraduate course of study may be eligible for tuition and fees reimbursement.


  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident (LPR)
  • Have at least one semester of college credit (12 hrs) with at least one course in the appropriate technical field, or have an associate's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • Be enrolled in either a community college or four-year institution or recent graduate with either an associate's or bachelor's degree (within one year).
  • No GPA requirement
  • Not be enrolled in a graduate course of study
