ORNL Site Office Deputy Manager Michele Branton (left) presented ORISE Director Jim Vosburg (right) with an official certificate acknowledging ORISE’s continued status as a DOE Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Site. Contractors whose programs meet the requirements for outstanding safety and health programs receive Star recognition, the highest level of achievement.

It was on February 14, 2023, when ORISE successfully completed a rigorous recertification assessment for its VPP through DOE Headquarters.

The ORISE VPP plan requires all employees to take responsibility for safety and to follow clearly defined requirements. ORISE has maintained its Star status since 2004.
