The 4½-day Advanced Radiation Emergency Medicine course, offered by the Radiation Emergency Assistance Center/Training Site (REAC/TS) at the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE), is designed to educate medical practitioners in advanced radiation medicine diagnosis and treatment as well as learning about current research.
This course, designed for health care providers, is academically more rigorous than the Radiation Emergency Medicine course. It is primarily an instructive course with some hands-on activities. Group problem-solving is used during the course to emphasize the management of complex cases.
Recent completion of the Radiation Emergency Medicine (REM) course is strongly recommended.
