The Joint Science and Technology Institute (JSTI) STEM Teacher Education Project (STEP) provides absolutely free professional development opportunities across the country for a limited number of schools in need. Our focus is on secondary teachers of content areas that align with Department of Defense research interests, such as biotechnology, water quality, design thinking, and much more!
The challenges today’s teachers face in meeting the demands of STEM-related instruction necessitate continual learning and professional development to ensure that their students are prepared for the challenges of the future.
STEP provides standards-aligned professional development workshops for educators covering various emerging technologies and sciences. These workshops not only introduce teachers to new content knowledge, technologies and methodologies but also provide teachers with methods and materials for integrating these new topics into their existing curricula.
