Description: The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) leads the development, integration, and delivery of Airman and Guardian-centric research, education, and consultation enabling the Air Force to achieve responsive and effective global vigilance, global reach, and global power now and in the future. The Repperger Summer Research Internship Program is a 10-week educational experience, providing research opportunities for students under the mentorship of an AFRL scientist. The available research opportunities span many STEM fields, including Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Kinesiology, Physics and several other areas of study. Along with gaining first-hand research experience, students will learn the inner workings of an operational Department of Defense laboratory and develop contacts and a network that will help them in their professional career.

Opportunity Title: High Performance Computing Modernization Program 2024 Summer Internship
Description: The Department of Defense (DoD) established the High Performance Computing Modernization Program [hpc.mil] (HPCMP) as a department-wide program to provide DoD scientists, engineers, and acquisition engineering professionals with the computational resources needed to develop robust solutions to complete technical challenges. Participants who are interested in HPC research opportunities should consider applying HPCMP’s summer research programs. The HPC Internship Program (HIP) provides students, majoring in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) areas, internship opportunities to gain exposure to and experience with high-end computing (HEC) by working under the mentorship of DOD experts in these areas. The Faculty Immersion Experience (FIX) provides faculty members, working in STEM areas, research opportunities to strengthen collaboration with DOD organizations, enhance research capabilities, and encourage broader university-level participation in HEC.
