ORISE supports landmark 2026 Genesis Mission Summit in Washington D.C.

As nearly 800 leaders from government, research institutions, industry, and academia gathered in Washington, D.C., for the 2026 Genesis Mission Summit, ORISE provided critical operational support for one of the nation’s most ambitious scientific initiatives.

The full-day summit held on July 22 marked a major milestone for the Genesis Mission, a federal effort designed to accelerate scientific discovery through advanced artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and coordinated national research partnerships. The event served as an opportunity to share the mission’s broad national vision and as a working meeting for the researchers, agencies, and strategic partners responsible for advancing it.

The summit featured an influential lineup of speakers and participants, including White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios, Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, Under Secretary for Science Darío Gil, Ambassador of Japan Shigeo Yamada, members of Congress, national laboratory leaders, and executives from leading technology companies. Sessions explored topics ranging from energy innovation and biotechnology to quantum computing and national security, while also highlighting emerging AI-driven scientific capabilities and collaborative research opportunities.

Behind the scenes, ORISE supported the complex logistics and coordination required for a high-profile event of this scale. From planning and registration management to on-site operations and attendee coordination, ORISE helped ensure the summit ran smoothly from start to finish.

“The Genesis Mission Summit brought together an extraordinary group of leaders and researchers focused on shaping the future of science and technology,” said ORISE Peer Review Director Jody Crisp. “Our team was proud to help create an environment where those conversations and collaborations could happen successfully.”

The Genesis Mission represents a multibillion-dollar federal investment in AI-enabled science and technology. Led by DOE, the initiative brings together national laboratories, universities, federal agencies, and private-sector innovators to tackle complex challenges in areas such as advanced energy systems, biotechnology, quantum computing, and materials science.

Supporting an event with national visibility and broad stakeholder participation required extensive preparation, adaptability, and attention to detail from the ORISE team throughout every stage of the summit. 

“Events of this magnitude require precision, flexibility, and teamwork at every stage,” Crisp said. “I am incredibly proud of the ORISE staff whose professionalism and dedication helped make this summit a success from start to finish.”
