As business technology continues to develop and improve the efficiency and methods of conducting meetings, the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education maintains a high level of proficiency at leveraging these technologies to manage peer reviews and scientific meetings for the U.S. Department of Energy and other federal agencies.
From completely virtual reviews to large in-person meetings that bring reviewers from across the country to a single location, the scope of the reviews ORISE supports can vary widely. In every case, ORISE staff provide technical support throughout to ensure that reviewers can concentrate on their subject matter without technological distractions.

Portfolio Analysis and Management System
Access to the U.S. Department of Energy's grant management system
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science electronic grants management system is named the Portfolio Analysis and Management System—or PAMS for short. Reviewers supporting DOE’s Office of Science grant programs will use this system for participating in peer review and program evaluations.
PeerNet
A platform for streamlining and securing the scientific review process
When conducting peer reviews, merit reviews, or grant reviews, ORISE may incorporate PeerNet, a web-based system for entering peer review scores and comments. PeerNet can be used to collect and report any evaluation data from multiple subject matter experts using common criteria and scoring methods helps review officials diligently monitor for conflict of interest and bias throughout the peer review process by giving them authorized read-only access to real-time data from the reviewers.
