Elemental Science Lesson Plan Competition
ORISE is going nuclear this October! In celebration of Nuclear Science Week (October 20-24), we invite K-12 educators to submit an original lesson plan in the Elemental Science Lesson Plan Competition. The lesson can cover topics ranging from atomic structure and interactions to nuclear energy. Your lesson plan could win a lab prize pack!

Nuclear Science Student Challenge
Celebrate Nuclear Science week with Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE)! We are asking K-12 students to identify a nuclear science-related resource and fill out a short survey to tell us what you learned. One winner from each grade band will be randomly selected to win!

Future of Nuclear Energy Undergraduate Scholarship Opportunity
As part of Nuclear Science Week 2025, ORISE invites undergraduate students to explore the future of nuclear energy by researching pivotal technologies and creating engaging infographics tailored to high school audiences. Participants will visually and textually highlight the significance of their chosen technology and its alignment with the nation’s energy goals for a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship. Submissions are due by November 30, 2025, with winners announced in December.
